Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

Cubital Tunnel Syndrome is compression of the ulnar nerve at the level of the elbow.  Like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Cubital Tunnel Syndrome often causes numbness and tingling in the hand that is worse at night.  The pattern, however, is different.  Patients often have symptoms in the Ring and Small (Pinky) fingers.

Splinting the elbow in extension at night, wearing elbow pads, and steroid injections around the nerve can often alleviate symptoms.  If these fail, surgical decompression has very favorable results.

I perform Cubital Tunnel Surgery endoscopically, through a small (1 inch) incision and with cameras.  While this yields a smaller scar, the real benefit is the more extensive and thorough decompression that I can perform using this technique than compared with open surgery.
